This spring, there are many new exciting movies that will be coming out.
One of the movies diving into theaters on May 2 is “Thunderbolts,” which is a Marvel Studios production. This movie introduces a new character named Sentry. He is two-sided, with bad and good sides, and is being played by actor Lewis Pullman. “Thunderbolts” also includes returning Marvel actors and actresses such as Florence Pugh as Black Widow, Wyatt Russell as a U.S. Agent, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster and Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier.
This film is about a team of antiheroes who must go on a dangerous government mission that will cause them to run into dark corners of their past, according to IMDb.
“Thunderbolts” is one of the most anticipated movies of 2025, according to Rotten Tomatoes, and it is University Academy freshman Brandon Locke’s highly awaited spring movie for 2025.
He said, “Thunderbolts is my most anticipated spring movie because it is Marvel and is tying into ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’”
“Avengers: Doomsday,” which is releasing May 1, 2026, is the next installment of the Avengers series, which will then include “Avengers: Secret Wars,” releasing May 7, 2027. These same “Thunderbolts” characters will be right there in those two films.
Another spring movie that is coming out and is highly anticipated is “Final Destination: Bloodlines.” The sixth film in the Final Destination franchise hits theaters on May 16 and is about a college student named Stefanie who returns home to search for one person who can break the cycle of death and save her family from the death curse.
The cast includes the late Tony Todd returning as William, Kaitlyn Santa Juana as Stefani, Teo Briones as Stefani’s brother Charlie, Owen Joyner as Bobby and Richard Harmon as Erik. The Final Destination franchise has been around since 2000.
“Final Destination: Bloodlines” is another one of the top spring movies people are excited about, according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Freshman Malik Taylor said, “My most anticipated spring movie is ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ because I have been wanting to see what the big intro disaster will be and have been watching since I was a kid.”
On May 23, just a week after “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” the eighth installment of Mission Impossible hits theaters. After almost 30 years, the film franchise is still running strong.
“Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning” is a second part to the 2023 film “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.” It will be based on the storyline of Ethan and his team tracking down a dangerous weapon that could threaten the universe before the wrong people get it, according to IMDb.
The cast of “Final Reckoning” stars Tom Cruise as Ethan, Hayley Atwell as Grace, Pom Klementieff as Paris, Mariela Garriga as Marie and Simon Pegg as Benji.
Freshman Tre’Rahn Giles said, “My most anticipated spring movie is ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,’ and this is my most anticipated because it’s one of my favorite franchises and one that hasn’t come out since 2023.”
Overall, the spring has a good variety of movies that are coming out, and these are three in the action genre to check out.
