Mr. Rashaud Mansaw works as a maintenance tech at University Academy. He attended UA and graduated from the school in 2017.
Q: What’s it like working as a UA faculty member?
A: It’s great. I’m learning different things to add to my resume and adding/building onto my craft. Learning new things in a different industry where you have never worked before or been just helps improve your IQ all around.
Q: What are some of the different roles you’ve had at UA? What do you enjoy about them?
A: Some different roles that I have had at UA are building sub, security, maintenance tech, and basketball coach. What I enjoyed about these roles was I was able to grow in each one of them in learning different ways to be the best as to whatever my title was at that time.
Q: What’s one thing we don’t know about you that you wish we did?
A: At the age of 19, I bought my first house.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Kansas City?
A: My favorite thing to do in Kansas City is try new food.
Q: What is one thing you wish you knew before reaching adulthood?
A: One thing I wish I knew before hitting adulthood is how to pay bills. You learn to understand due dates, interest rates, late fees and credit cards. A lot of adults struggle not because they don’t make money, but because they never learned how money flows out. This can also build responsibility.
Q: What is your favorite place that you’ve traveled to? What did you like about it?
A: My favorite place I traveled to was Montego Bay. What I liked about it was the food and the resort. It was very relaxing and fun with all the activities you could do at the resort.
Q: What is your favorite hobby?

A: My favorite hobby is basketball.
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?
A: My biggest pet peeve is being fake/lying.
