For anyone who watches CoryxKenshin… Sup UA Gryphons, what’s going on? Layla Whitney here, and welcome!
CoryxKenshin, a famous YouTuber, was gone from every social media platform for about two years but is now back and better than ever.
Most of his fans didn’t know why he was gone for so long because he told nobody about it until he posted his return video on Dec. 13. There was no explanation on why he left, only a disappearance. On his return video, he went into depth talking about his long absence from YouTube and a brand new manga he has been working on, “Monsters We Make.” He said he took the time off to perfect the manga and make it into something he hopes everybody will love.
CoryxKenshin has been on YouTube for 15 years and has been posting videos since 2009. He currently has 20.9 million subscribers. Prior to his absence, there was no schedule for when he posted videos, but normally he would post every few days. But after posting a video on June 27, 2023, months went by, and the months turned into more than year. Still no updates.
CoryxKenshin’s sudden disappearance changed things for some fans.
Rashad Green-Mosley, a sophomore at University Academy, said fans became “hurt” and “broken.” Watching old videos is all fans could do. But then, he finally returned.
In his Dec. 13 video, he came back and gave everybody information on his new manga. The first video in his new animated series, a manga called “Monsters We Make,” came out on Dec 16. The storyline for the manga will be about a sci-fi battle between humans and aliens. He also promised to sign the first 777 printed copies that are sold on his website.
Before his YouTube break, CoryxKenshin posted videos that involved horror and comedy. His videos showcased his sense of humor and his real character. Some fans find it funny when he starts screaming in his videos or when he replays moments in the games to show what happened. He also likes to replay when he gets jumpscared in slow motion, which might make some fans laugh.
Green-Mosley said, “Cory just brings the vibe of everything. [He’s] a vibe in general and an elite gamer.”
Since his return, he has stayed pretty consistent with posting. He still continues to post the same kinds of videos from before, but is he going to keep it up?
In his original explanation video, CoryxKenshin said his ambition for “Monsters We Make” is to “adapt the manga into an anime.” There will be fighting scenes, sequences and much more to come. Green-Mosley is looking forward to what CoryxKenshin will be posting.
He said, “I would be watching most of the time because I think it’s got a lot of potential, and I’m ready for everything he gives me.”
Some of CoryxKenshin’s fans could sit and watch him for hours without even realizing. Teron Trice, a UA sophomore, has been watching his videos since elementary school.
Trice said he doesn’t really want to watch the new manga, but he hopes “his manga makes it to Netflix or somewhere to be anime.”
Only time will tell how CoryxKenshin’s manga does. In his own words… Until next time, my brothers and sisters.
